I am photojournalist based in Oslo, Norway. I am represented by Panos Pictures (UK) and run the Felix Features picture agency with my partner Marianne Alfsen.
I began photographing for the local newspaper while still in secondary school and continued to take photographs through my spell of mandatory military service.
Serving as a photographer in the Norwegian Air Force grounded me in aerial and technical photography and informed my approach to stories ranging from extreme sports and environmental issues to reportage and conflict.
I went on to work as a press photographer in Oslo, working mainly for daily newspaper Dagbladet, covering daily news, politics , features and foregin news. I have covered major news such as the 2004 tsunami, various conflicts in the Middle East, and the arab spring. My pictures have been published in Newsweek, Time, Sunday Times, Der Spiegel, Stern and The Economis to mention a few.
Following the birth of my daughter I have shifted my attention to issues closer to home.
While still providing pictures for mainstream media, lately I have been working more for NGOs , government agencies and provide pictures for «content marketing» . I am particularly happy to be working a lot with the Norweigan Air Ambulance the last few years. While my background is still photography I also regularly make short videos for my clients, mainly for web presentations.
I am a certified UAV (drone) operator and amongst the first photojournalists in Norway to start using this technology. I also use underwater photography to pursue the beauty and challenges of the world beneath the waves, as well as add an extra dimention to any story related to water.
